Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral
Well, it's my the first post and photo of Saint-Petersburg. And I begin "at the beginning":-) - the moment of origin of the city.
Saint-Petersburg was laid on "Zayachi isl" by Peter the Great on May 16. And the first building was Saint Peter and Paul Fortress.
The same day was laid wooden church of Saints Paul and Peter, who being regarded as protectors of the city.
So, on this shot at background you can see the spire of Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral (not wooden nowdays). And beautiful floating fountain on Neva river at the foreground as well.

Welcome to the world of DP.
I’m so pleased there is a DP from Saint Petersburg. I was there for only two days last year and am still sorting out my many photos of the city.
